DISPATCHER & LOGISTICIAN:

We are looking for a motivated, detailed, team-orientated individual to join our growing dispatch team. The successful candidate will be joining a vibrant, dynamic, fast-paced environment that is detail orientated and heavily dependent on teamwork and communication with internal staff, company drivers and customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following job duties and
responsibilities:
• Building and editing loads into our dispatch system
• Entering real-time progress information on driver trips
• Working with other dispatchers in terms of load detail, planning and organization
• Tracking and tracing driver progress on all loads, working with the appropriate dispatcher, and
reporting back to the customer when necessary
• Coordinating all border crossing paperwork into and out of the United States
• Coordinating customer relations with load brokers and customers
• Assisting other dispatchers in communicating with drivers and other staff
• Monitoring driver electronic logbooks and support other dispatchers in monitoring driver timing
& trip planning
• Supporting our management team in developing new freight and new lanes
• Respond to incoming customer inquiries

It is recommended that the successful candidate has the following qualifications:
• Education Required: Minimum High School diploma
• Years of Experience Required: 1-2 years or more preferred but not necessary
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of computer software programs and telephone systems
• The ability to work effectively and efficiently with both internal staff and our customers
• Detail orientated
• Open to new ideas and processes
• Reliable & dependable
The position is full-time, permanent, Monday-Friday from 10am – 7pm.

Driver of the Month – November 2017

Our driver of the month for November 2017 is Ashraf Lafi! Ash is originally from Amman, Jordan and moved to Canada in 2008, starting as a long-haul, cross-border driver for Seafood Express in July of 2016.
Ash is extremely hardworking, an easy dispatch, non-confrontational, organized and enthusiastic. Congratulations Ash and thank you for all your hard work!

Driver of the Month – October 2017

Our driver of the month for October 2017 is Bruce Ross. Bruce has been with Seafood Express since April 2012 as a local, container driver. Bruce proves he is hardworking every day he is on the job, he’s a pleasure to talk to in the office, he always goes above and beyond along with being respectful to his dispatch and other drivers.Thank you for all your hard work and Congratulations Bruce!

We are so happy to announce that we are now members of the Trucks for Change network, which is a non-profit group of leading highway carriers across Canada who believe in supporting communities with in-kind transportation services.

Driver of the Month – August 2017

Our driver of the month for August 2017 is Manuel Wagner. Manuel has been with Seafood Express since January 2016 as a long-haul, cross-border driver. Manuel shows a positive and cooperative attitude when he is on the job. He has a safe over-the-road record, and he is willing to go above and beyond to help Seafood Express please our customers in a safe & timely fashion. Congratulations, Manuel!

Driver of the Month – July 2017

Our Driver of the Month for July, 2017 is Dwayne Hall. Dwayne has been with Seafood Express since April 2016 as a long-haul, cross-border driver. Dwayne shows positive work attitude every day he is on the job and customers also love to work with him. He’s proven his high attention to detail, a safe over-the-road record and has been a pleasure to work with throughout the month.

New Phone System

Seafood Express has recently updated their phone system!

Now, before you dial the extension, you must dial 9. For example, if you’d like to reach Fleet Maintenance, you must dial 9, and then 228.

Iron Apple Certified!

Seafood Express is very excited to say we are now Iron Apple certified! We are now recognized in both Canada and United States as an approved Preventive Controls Plan HACCP based food safety program for transportation and storage. Seafood Express also met all the minimum training requirements for the Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food Regulation requirements. Food Safety and Sanitary Food Handling is at the top of our list when it comes to transporting products between pick up and delivery.
